Product Description: Low-smoke, halogen-free, flame-retardant, and fire-resistant wires and cables produce minimal smoke when exposed to flames, and the gases released during combustion contain no halogens or toxins. In the event of a fire, these cables significantly enhance personal safety, reduce property damage, and minimize harm to sensitive instruments and equipment. As a result, they are widely used in high-rise buildings, hospitals, large libraries, sports stadiums, disaster-resilient command centers, railway stations, civil airports, passenger waiting areas, key cultural heritage sites, as well as in public spaces with dense populations—such as urban rail systems, subways, underground shopping malls, and other crowded environments.

Usage characteristics:
Cable conductor long-term operating temperatures: Cross-linked polyethylene cables are rated for 90°C; irradiated cross-linked polyolefin cables are available in 105°C and 125°C versions.
The ambient temperature for cable laying shall not be lower than 0°C;
For low-smoke, halogen-free cables: the pH value of the cable combustion gases ≥ 4.3, and the weighted conductivity ≤ 10/μs/mm.
The minimum light transmittance of finished cables during combustion should be no less than 60%.

In addition to evaluating the height of flame spread, flame-retardant B1-grade cables are also tested for a range of critical parameters, including heat release, smoke generation characteristics, single-cable combustion behavior, smoke density, burning droplets/particles, smoke toxicity levels, and corrosivity. As a result, B1-grade flame-retardant cables have even higher requirements for cable combustion performance—they must be halogen-free, low-smoke, and environmentally friendly—and stringent standards are imposed on smoke toxicity as well. These features prove highly beneficial during fire emergencies, significantly reducing both human casualties and property damage. |
